Chiropractors treat many
common ailments related to the neuro-musculo-skeletal system.
There is good evidence in the medical research that spinal pain, such as
back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, pain between the shoulder blades,
respond to chiropractic care. These are the most common complaints that
we see in our practice. Complaints of numbness and tingling in the back
or extremities are also common conditions that respond to chiropractic.
Acute spinal injuries such as slipped disc, disc prolapse and disc bulge
also respond well to chiropractic care.
Chronic, degenerative problems such as cervical and lumbar spondylosis,
and lumbar stenosis also show good results with lower risk rates that
many other interventions. Rheumatism and "Hong Sip" also can be managed
with chiropractic.
Headaches, including many migraine syndromes respond well to
chiropractic care.
Chiropractors also address problems involving the extremities: Tennis
and Golf elbow, wrist problems, hands, knees, ankles and foot pain.
There are also some clinical trials that demonstrate chiropractic
benefit with "Type O" or non-musculo-skeletal disorders. Infantile colic
and ear infections have been demonstrated to respond favorably compared
to standard medical care. Many people undergoing chiropractic care for
musculo-skeletal complaints also report other system benefits. Studies
have shown that as many as 25-30% reported improvements in breathing
problems, digestion, and circulation among others.
